FAMILY HOUSING CAN HELP YOU GET ONLINE
At Family Housing we want to help our tenants to Get Online and we’ve drawn up a plan that shows how we aim to achieve this – our Digital Inclusion Strategy. We’re the only organisation in Swansea that has such a plan.
Family Housing is working with the City & County of Swansea and Age Cymru Swansea Bay to help our tenants learn more about using the internet. This partnership is called GET SWANSEA ONLINE and is funded by the Welsh Government.
WHAT WE HAVE DONE
Carol Johns is co-ordinating the project. We’ve installed computers and internet access at a number of our schemes and a number of staff have been trained to help support our tenants to get online. We’ve called these staff our Digital Champions.
WHAT WILL THIS DO FOR YOU?
You’ll be able to learn how to pay your rent online, find out how your benefits are going to change and get ready for Universal Credit.
We’ll also be able to help you learn how to use the internet to shop online, send emails, keep in touch with family and friends, pay your bills or look for a job.
We’ll help you with information about buying a computer, getting the internet installed (for a reasonable price!), staying safe online and finding friendly computer lessons close to your home.
IF YOU’RE ALREADY CONFIDENT ABOUT USING THE INTERNET
Family Housing is looking for help to get as many tenants as possible online. If you’re confident in your abilities and would like to help other tenants, we’d love to hear from you. We’ll offer you training to help you help others, and we’ll work closely with you to ensure you’re happy with what you are doing.
HOW TO GET IN TOUCH WITH US
If you want to find out more about learning to use the Internet you can ask your Support Worker, any member of our staff or contact Carol Johns by phone on 01792 482762 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
